| raemccoy1 posts: 6 | My family recently moved to North Dakota to be a part of the big oil boom here. This has been a real hard adjustment, and have been homesick, but the hardest thing to leave was my Capoeira "family" in SLC, UT. For the last couple of years, I have been involved with the Volta Miuda group in Salt Lake City. I have grown to love this sport, and everything about it. I have tried to learn everything about it, and hope to visit Brazil someday. I have been unsuccessful in finding a group here, and so have found another answer. Instead of trying to become a teacher, with my little knowledge, I have received permission from my Mestrando, in SLC, to grow his group here. He was very honored that I came to him and asked if I could help grow his group here, and if he would be able to help us find someone who would be willing and able to come here and teach. He has a lot of friends who are Masters and Teachers of this art, and know more who are wanting to have a group to begin teaching, and he would be able to get us someone quickly if we were able to find enough people interested in forming our own group.
I have seen old posts from people who were looking for classes in ND, and I believe there are even more people looking out there, now, especially since this is the fastest growing state right now, and Capoeira is getting more exposure and becoming more known and desired. Please reply if you are interested in helping us start our own group here in ND, (and feel free to spread the word), or if you have more questions, or suggestions, or input.
Also, if you would like to learn more about the Volta Miuda group currently in UT, you can visit their website at: http://www.saltlakecapoeira.com/.
Many thanks. |
