I had been looking for a Capoeira School in my area, and came across only one.
http://www.meetup.com/Capoeira-Angola-Palmares/
There wouldn't happen to be another in the area I'm missing? I've looked in phonebook and online
Does anyone have any experience with the instructor? Or if any of you are from the area and attend this class, rate it?

| Listkeeper posts: 339 | Take a look at my website. The information is out of date, but it may give you some clues. I will do it myself when I get some time. |
| SantoGuerreira posts: 1361 | Aegis: your couldn't do much better that capoeira Angola Palmares! Great lineage-Gulliver, Mestre No -if either one of these great players have allowed one of their student to open a academy you know you will learn there. |
| memphis posts: 4 | I dont know if you have found anything since this post is a few months old. There is more than one school in Nashville. Capoeira Angola Palmares is one which is lead by Xulu. There is also a regional school that I dont have the data on, but I could get it if needed. |
| knowmad posts: 1 | I am in Nashville. I have been training with the group mentioned in this post for maybe 5 months now. The group at meetup.com is the same group led by Xulu mentioned in the latter post. We are currently a small group of 10-12 regulars and have just expanded to meet twice a week which is helpful to stay on top of your game. I took for a few years as a kid, http://www.capoeirabrazilpelo.com, in Orlando. The style here, Angola, is somewhat different then what I had previously been exposed to. Send me a PM if you've got more questions or just come by and check us out at the Global Education Center on Charlotte Ave in West Nashville Mondays and Thursdays at 7p. Axe! |
| Aegis posts: 15 | Guys, I'd like to say thank you for trying to help me out. Turth be told, shortly after I posted this thread, I began training with Xulu's group. I had an unfortunate series of events unfold in October that really messed me up and haven't attended since.
The good news is that I'm almost done healing up and am planning to begin re-conditioning for a few weeks before I come back to the group. Seeing your replies has filled me with even more confidence, and I thank you. |

| Signified posts: 1 | There is also a capoeira regional class. It meets as part of the Vanderbilt Capoeira Club, and is taught by Eme eme of Grupo Balança Capoeira. Class times are on Saturdays at 1:30-3:30 and Wednesdays at 6-8pm at the student rec center |
